The lodge provides a perfect base for walking and climbing at all levels in the Northern Highlands. There are around 100 Munros (Scottish mountains over 3,000 feet) within easy reach. There is a booklet of 64 local walks in the lodge.
There are around 15 courses within a 45 minute drive of the lodge. The nearest 18 hole course is at Muir of Ord and there is also the beautifully situated 9 hole course at Aigas about 10 minutes drive away. For serious enthusiasts there are championship courses at Nairn and Dornoch.
There are 2 horse riding centres locally at Drumnadrochit and Muir of Ord.
Fishing is a popular pastime and both trout and salmon fishing are available. Salmon fishing is available on the River Beauly and the River Glass. Trout fishing is available in many of the nearby lochs.
You can enjoy many species of woodland birds from the comfort of the lodge. Other visitors spotted have been redkites, buzzards, siskins, owls, woodpeckers, pheasants and partridges. There are are RSPB reserves at Fairy Glen, Loch Ruthven, Loch Garten and at Corrimony.
